In general, I'm becoming lazier and lazier. For I skipped another class on Friday morning, which made me feel guilty again. And I won't do homework until the last moment, in addition, I'm fond of surfing online instead of studying. Maybe because my last midterm test just finished, but it's obvious that the final tests are coming! So, there's no reason for me to play limitless.
Anyway, we have to make ourselves relax a little. As the Pre-Thanksgiving lunch was held in Marcel's house. She's a really nice person, I appreciated what she did and like the food there. Above all, the atmosphere is different from the campus', as all international students gathered there. What's more, we Chinese students reunioned at the very night for a hot pot dinner! I didn't expect it was so delicious! Compared to the freezing cold weather outside, the warm cozy air inside couldn't be more precious and comfortable. I've already begun to expected another hot pot dinner!

I was smelling like a dish!
Last night I went to one of my buddies' house to cook stir-fry for them. Though I wasn't sure if its flavor would be completely the same with the original one when I cooked at home. They asked if we needed a recipe, well, I thought I could manage it without one, so, I just did it by myself. Though I found out that the dish must be cooked longer, anyway, they were not that bad and I found my cooking skills were improved a little bit, lol. Mm, next time, maybe I should put more suger and salt in the eggs with tomatoes, and shut down the stove until the tomotoes are juicy enough. Well, they seemed like prefering the stir fried vegetables with chicken much more. Maybe I should only cook this one when I cook for Americans next time. Anyway, I thought I managed it. And I was happy that we cooked in a real house which gave me a homelike feeling. On the other hand, I thought they liked my dishes. While, what couldn't be worse was, I smelled like a dish after cooking, as the smoke came out and soaked me from hair to toes during the whole process!!!
By the way, my buddy got a huuuuuggggeee TV in her house, and all the funiture lurked me to rent a house. But it's a shame that I can only stay here for one year. Well, it is an interesting night, and I don't know why I was so happy. Maybe because the Chinese dished I made, or the warm atmosphere I felt, or the conversations between us. They are really nice girls I think!
And today, I'm fond of the Swedish band-Chasing Dorotea, again! Their " A Long Time Ago" and "The Anchor Song" sound like the spring sunshine in the afternoon, bright but not too colorful. Especially when you have nothing to do and wanna take a rest, just listen to it and relax! Quels
Last night, some friends and I went to my friend Xiuting's host family to celebrate her 2oth birthday, which turned out to be a very interesting party.
Her host familly decorated their house elaborately with purple table cloth, colorful ballons. And we were served with delicious dinner and dessert. And they are very nice people, Matt, who is humourous and considerate, and Kendra is generous and outgoing. We all felt very warm and casual. Their kids are so lovely and agile, especially the little girl, Carol. Everybody loves her, she is so cute and like a little angel!
The most interesting part was that we played a game which is called "Quels". I think it is a quiet bizarre game. We played in group of 2 or individually, and chose a character for ourselves. Then, we threw the dice, and let the character went several steps on a colorful board in accordance with the number on the dice. After the character stopped, we got a card that went with the same color the character stamped. We should follow the instructions the card indicated. It's the bizarre part. Some card said you should put your hand on floor until next turn, otherwise you would get penalty- going backward. And somebody had to mime like he was in a box and biting by strange creatures. I think the funniest one was to imitate the flush sound of toilet, and Matt did it perfectly!
There were a variety of odd instructions fulling of suspenses and made us nervous, as you didn't know if it was you that would make a gaffe when you drop the dice next time. Well, I strongly recommend this game. Though it's designed for kids to some extend, I think it suits us as well, especially when you are bored.
